Day 7. Tarzan (1999). Directed by Chris Buck and Kevin Lima.

Tarzan (1999) Score: 79%

Believe it or not, I’ve never seen Disney’s Tarzan. Quite frankly I’m appalled with myself, because it’s definitely one of their best.

The music is of course outstanding. Phil Collins does a wonderful job of complementing the film with his songs. The voice work is impressive too, though that goes without saying when you’ve got Brian Blessed onboard, and the animation is a pleasant blend of animation styles. To boot, the story is relentlessly engaging. In turns it’s emotional, tense, thrilling, hilarious, and has more than a few similarities to The Lion King. That can only be a good thing.
