Day 13. GoldenEye (1995). Directed by Martin Campbell.

GoldenEye (1995) score: 79%

Daniel Craig has two exceptional films under his belt now, so GoldenEye has slipped to third place for me. For a series with 24 films in it, that ain’t bad.

For me this is the only good Pierce Brosnan Bond. While his other three were enjoyable, you cannot possibly say they were of a high standard. Sean Bean has intense chemistry with Brosnan both pre- and post-villainy, and the secondary villain, the femme fatale Onatopp (Famke Janssen), is genuinely terrifying. The only thing terrifying in Die Another Day is how Toby Stephens manages to pass off gurning as acting.
