Day 28. The Dark Knight Rises (2012). Directed by Christopher Nolan.

The Dark Knight Rises (2012) score: 88%

This might be controversial, but I think The Dark Knight Rises is ever-so-slightly better than The Dark Knight. I know most people think TDK is the best of the trilogy, but personally I think Tom Hardy’s Bane is a more satisfying adversary because he’s more thoroughly explored than Ledger’s Joker.

As a result of his relevance to Batman’s trilogy-wide story arc, and of course his sheer indefatigable nature, it’s a genuine relief when he is finally subdued (even if not by Batman himself).

It runs even longer than the first two films, but once again, no screentime is wasted (though there are gaping plotholes aplenty, perhaps as a direct result).
