Day 52. Kung Fu Panda 3 (2016). Directed by Alessandro Carloni & Jennifer Yuh Nelson

Kung Fu Panda 3 (2016) score: 76%

I never expected to like Kung Fu Panda 1 or Kung Fu Panda 2, or, for some reason, Kung Fu Panda 3 either. However I’ve been proven wrong three times now. More than most other animations I know, it’s a sum of its parts. I definitely don’t mean that in the sense that it’s by-the-numbers, because it’s absolutely outstanding.

Not many animated series retain such quality in its third outing. The voice acting in KFP 3 is as animated as the film itself, the story is crammed with hilarity, action and emotion in equal measure, and in every single respect it is hypnotically beautiful.
