78. Jurassic World (2015). Directed by Colin Trevorrow

Jurassic World (2015) score: 73%

Jurassic World is hands down the best sequel to Jurassic Park, although the competition for that title isn’t exactly strong. The Lost World was a bit sucky and Jurassic Park 3 was really sucky.

What lifts Jurassic World above those two films is a solid cast which doesn’t feel the need to shoehorn in the original’s characters in order to function, as well as child actors who are far less irritating than those in the original.

There are also some genuinely terrifying sequences despite the abundance of occasionally very shiny CGI, as well as some unforced humour despite some clichéd characterisations.
