81. Get Out (2017). Directed by Jordan Peele

Get Out (2017) score: 87%

It’s hard to find the right words to explain how unsettling Get Out is. Despite the fantastical extent to which it portrays closeted racism, it’s so utterly convincing and infused with tension that I was on edge for the whole train ride home.

You can also see the twist coming from a mile away, but the way it’s revealed will make the floor fall away from under you.

The roots of the film are based in a disturbing reality we’d rather not acknowledge, so no matter how over the top and predictable it gets, it’s an experience you’ll never forget.
